Our Vision
-
Teaching people to know and respond in obedience to God's will as revealed in the Holy Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16 - 17). We envision to be a people who have strong personal relationships with God through Jesus Christ, and who by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit are empowered to live Godly and productive lives. We believe the preaching and teaching of the Bible to be one of the highest priorities of the church.
-
Reaching people with the gospel intentionally and in lifestyle witness (Philippians 1:27). We envision that out of our relationship with God and our pursuit of living Him, we will have a passion to love others and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
-
Equipping people to use their gifts and talents for ministry (Ephesians 4:12). We envision people being trained and developed for various ministries in the Body of Christ. We see this training as vital to preparing people for effective ministry and defending the Christian faith.
-
Exalting God through corporate and private worship (1 Corinthians 6:19 - 20). We believe worship of the true God is the core of our purpose. We seek to encourage people to practice the presence of God in their daily lives as well as in our corporate worship services. We envision people honoring and glorifying God with their entire lives.

Serve the Lord with our familyA healthy church is one that not only worships the Lord, but also serves him wholeheartedly. We would also encourage you to: Serve the Lord with your spiritual gifts Every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, upon his conversion, is given spiritual gifts. Although our gifts are often different and unique, they are given by the same Spirit and are used to serve the same Lord (1 Corinthians 12). Our leadership would like to help you learn more about and developed your spiritual gifts. Ask our pastor or elders about ministry opportunities where you can use your gifts. There are numerous places and avenues to serve the Lord at Oak Street. Please ask our leadership about which opportunities might fit your gifts. Serve the Lord by committing yourself to the mission of "Loving God and Loving Others."
