Pastor - Reverend Gary Karas

Pastor Gary received a BS in Biology from Urbana University and spent 25 years in the Water Pollution Control industry. He responded to God’s call to the pastoral ministry and earned a Master of Arts in Ministry degree from Moody Bible Institute in 1997. Prior to being called to Oak Street Baptist Church, he served in Baptist churches in Ohio and Kansas.
He has been married to love of his life and best friend Becky. They have two married daughters Jessica, who is mother to their granddaughter Jaydan, and Alexandria.
Pastor Gary is convinced of the inerrancy of the Bible and uses it as the basis for his way of life, preaching, teaching, and counseling ministries.
Pastor Karas counts it a privilege to serve our risen Savior and His people as a Pastor-Teacher at Oak Street Baptist Church.
